A pair of Palm Beach County outside hitters earned big postseason honors Wednesday.
Boca Raton senior Christine Jarman and Lake Worth Christian senior Jenna Culhan were named the Florida Dairy Farmers’ Class 9A and Class 3A Players of the Year, respectively.
They were among nine players and nine coaches who were named individual class finalists in voting conducted by a statewide panel of high school volleyball coaches and prep media representatives.
One player and one coach will be chosen Miss Volleyball and Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year. The winners will be announced Dec. 7.
Jarman, who has signed with the University of Alabama, helped lead the Bobcats to the Class 9A state championship. She finished the season with 340 kills, 246 digs, 77 service points and 27 blocks.
Culhan, who has signed with Liberty University, recorded 476 kills, 464 digs, 32 blocks and 62 aces. The Defenders advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals.
