The Hawks (16-0), who are seeking for their fifth state title in seven years, took a 14-0 first-quarter lead and rolled the rest of the way.

Seminole Ridge, the defending state champion, will play Martin County Saturday at 5 p.m. in the state title game at Robinson High School in Tampa.

The Tigers beat Tampa-Plant 19-6 in the other semifinal Friday night.

“We got a good start, and that really helped,” Hawks coach Scott O’Hara said.  “It really put the pressure on them. Our defense was really good, and our rush was outstanding. It really set the tone for the game.”

Quarterback Madeline Harding was 16-of-25 for 156 yards and three touchdowns Friday for the Hawks. She connected with seven different receivers.

Senior Yazmin Salguero caught six passes for 88 yards and three touchdowns, while Kristi Kemper caught four passes for 25 yards.

Harding also rushed for 61 yards on 12 attempts, and recorded four tackles on defense.

Seminole Ridge is ranked No. 1 in the state, and Martin County is No. 6.

“They’re going to be very tough for us,” O’Hara said of the Tigers.
