A trio of senior softball standouts will represent Palm Beach County next weekend at the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s 27th All-Star Softball Classic.
Bailey Whalen
Palm Beach Gardens’ Bailey Whalen and Britney Schmidt, and Park Vista’s Jaime Scher will join more than 60 senior softball players from around the state May 20-21 at Forest High School in Ocala.
Whalen and Scher, both pitchers, and Schmidt, a first baseman, will play on the East team.
The South team will play the West team at 6 p.m. May 20, followed by the North team and the East team at 8 p.m. The consolation game will be played May 21 at 10 a.m., followed by the championship at noon.
The Florida Athletic Coaches Association is comprised of more than 5,000 member coaches, both high school and college, in the state of Florida. FACA sponsors 10 high school All-Star Classics in nine sports throughout the year, and also conducts four coaching clinics.
