Girls soccer: The new top 10 after Week 8

Girls soccer will take a break for the holidays following a busy week of competition.

District play is complete, with a handful of area teams claiming district championships. Play will resume Jan. 5, with district tournaments to follow Jan. 11-15.

There were few changes to this week’s top 10, with Wellington and Spanish River switching places at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively. Oxbridge Academy maintained its hold on the top spot after winning a trio of games last week.

1. Oxbridge Academy (9-0-3): Unbeaten streak continues
2. Boca Raton (16-1-1): Scoreless tie with American Heritage
3. American Heritage (9-1-4): Stallions win Mariner Christmas tournament
4. Park Vista (12-1): Cobras 8-0 in district play
5. West Boca Raton (15-1): Bulls unbeaten since Oct. 29
6. Jupiter (11-3-1): Warriors win District 10-5A
7. Benjamin (8-2-2): Bucs off last week
8. Palm Beach Central (10-3-1): Broncos earn 1-1 tie with Suncoast
9. Wellington (12-6-1): Wolverines seeded No. 2 in district
10. Spanish River (11-6-1): Sharks fall to Wellington
