Burbank finished the season with 474 digs, 343 service points, 104 aces and 124 assists.

Rapp, an outside hitter, signed to play at New York University. The Violets compete in the University Athletic Association.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Boynton Beach High School. The event, also known as the Clash of Scholar Athletes, features 50 players representing each team.

Florida holds a 2-1 series lead over Georgia, winning 29-7 in 2013 and 28-21 in 2014. Georgia won the 2015 game 26-14.

The Florida vs. Georgia All-Star game gives high school seniors the opportunity to showcase their skills, Prep & Sports Vice President and Atlantic assistant Jamael Stewart said.

“Many of the players who were overlooked started receiving phone calls from colleges after playing in this game,” Stewart told Prepbuilders.com.

Stewart expects a strong performance from Team Florida on Saturday.

“This year’s Florida team will match up evenly with Team Georgia up front,” he told Prepbuilders.com. “As we can see from past years, Team Florida and Team Georgia both have some blazing speed on both sides of the ball, but the battle will be won in the trenches.”

Seminole Ridge senior Sullivan Maney will spend her college volleyball career in Florida.

Seminole Ridge senior Sullivan Maney has signed to play beach volleyball at Eckerd College.

Seminole Ridge senior Sullivan Maney has signed to play beach volleyball at Eckerd College.

The longtime beach volleyball standout has signed to play the sport at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.

“I chose Eckerd, because not only do they have a great academic reputation, but the coaches are top pro beach volleyball players who really know the game and can help me grow in the sport I love,” she said.

Maney played three seasons of indoor volleyball at Seminole Ridge, but did not play as a senior in order to focus on her beach career.

She began playing beach volleyball at 11, and has won numerous medals during her long career.

During the past two years, she has been invited to participate in the ROX East Coast Beach All-Star Championships. She also earned bids to the 2013 and 2014 AAU Junior Olympics, and was ranked No. 1 in the 16U USAV Junior Girls Rankings in 2013.

Vandarius Cowan is headed to Tallahassee – again – after recommitting to Florida State Tuesday night.

The four-star Palm Beach Gardens linebacker made the announcement through Twitter, much to the delight – and relief – of the many Seminoles fans who follow him.

Cowan, 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, originally committed to FSU in June. He told 247Sports then that he grew up a Florida State fan.

“It is my favorite school,” he said. “It made it better when they offered me. I wasn’t expecting it, at so young in high school. So it is pretty good.”

He changed his mind four months later, decommitting Oct. 25.

Cowan picked up an Alabama offer Oct. 30, adding to a long list of Division I offers that include Miami, Florida, Georgia and Notre Dame.

Ultimately, he decided to go back to the Seminoles (10-2), who play Houston in the Peach Bowl Dec. 31.

Cowan, the No. 6 outside linebacker according to 247Sports composite rankings, finished the 2015 season with 102 tackles and two forced fumbles for Palm Beach Gardens. The Gators won the District 9-8A championship and advanced to the regional quarterfinals.

Most of our area’s teams were in action over the two-week break, with unbeaten St. Andrew’s and Grandview Prep continuing their fast starts, and Wellington capping a strong showing at the prestigious Farm Bureau Insurance Classic in South Carolina with a runner-up finish.

The Scots moved up a spot to No. 2 after playing well at the Kreul Classic and St. Andrew’s New Year’s Classic tournaments, while Suncoast also rose a spot after a solid performance at the Father Lopez Holiday Tournament in Daytona Beach.

Other teams moving up this week are Lake Worth and Santaluces, while Royal Palm Beach re-entered the poll at No. 9 after winning the Wildcat Holiday Classic.

Boys basketball top 10 entering Week 6:

1. Grandview Prep (15-0): Two tournament championships for Pride
2. St. Andrew’s (15-0): Scots 2-0 at New Year’s Classic
3. Dwyer (11-2): Panthers fall to St. Andrew’s at Kreul Classic
4. Wellington (13-4): Second place at Farm Bureau Classic
5. Suncoast (10-2): Strong showing at Father Lopez tournament
6. Santaluces (10-4): Chiefs play Lake Worth Friday
7. Lake Worth (10-3): Trojans unbeaten since Dec. 1
8. Boca Raton (10-5): Austin Aubrey averaging 15.3 points
9. Royal Palm Beach (8-3): Wildcat Classic champion
10. Palm Beach Lakes (7-4): Runner-up at D-Hop tournament
Also considered: John I. Leonard (8-4); Palm Beach Gardens (9-4); Benjamin (10-4)

Games of the Week:

No. 7 Lake Worth (10-3) at No. 8 Boca Raton (10-5), 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: The Trojans are one of the area’s hottest teams, winning eight straight games since dropping a 57-51 decision to district rival Santaluces Dec. 1. Lake Worth faces the Chiefs again on Friday, but first plays another key district contest against the Bobcats. This will be the second meeting of the season between the teams, with Boca Raton winning the first game 54-41 Nov. 24. The Trojans have gotten great production from junior guard Joshua Rathell, who is averaging a team-leading 15 points this season, and sophomore guard Bryan Henry, who is contributing 12.8. The Bobcats’ balanced offense is led by Austin Aubrey (15.3 ppg), Morgan Zook (12.8 ppg), Cade Long (11.3 ppg) and Eli O’Connor (10.0 ppg).

No. 4 Wellington (13-4) at Palm Beach Gardens (9-4), 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: The Wolverines return to their district schedule after playing a tough slate of games during the holidays. In this one, state-ranked Wellington – coming off a runner-up finish at the Farm Bureau Insurance Classic in South Carolina – faces a surprising Gators squad that has excelled this season under second-year coach Drew Quinn. Palm Beach Gardens is 3-0 in district play and has won six of its past seven games. But the Wolverines will be the Gators’ toughest test to date. Wellington has lost four games, but all are to state-ranked or nationally ranked teams. The Wolverines, also 3-0 in the district, have a trio of starters in Trent Frazier, Lester Gates and Alex Dieudonne who are among the best in the area, plus key contributors throughout their roster. Junior guard Jared Olsen leads a balanced Palm Beach Gardens offense at 10.9 points per game.

No. 5 Suncoast (10-2) at No. 3 Dwyer (11-2), 7:30 p.m. Thursday: This intriguing non-district contest matches a pair of teams that have been among the area’s best in the season’s first half. The Panthers have dropped just two games, one to district rival Palm Beach Lakes on Nov. 21 and the other to unbeaten and No. 2-ranked St. Andrew’s Dec. 21 in the Kreul Classic. The Chargers, meanwhile, have won five straight since a three-point loss to Port St. Lucie Dec. 9. Suncoast’s only other loss came to 11-2 Miami Central in double overtime Nov. 28. Junior forward Austin Evans and senior guard Christoff Nairn have led the way offensively for Suncoast, averaging 14.9 points and 12.9 points, respectively, while five Panthers are averaging double digits in scoring.

Thursday’s meet marks the first time in the state of Florida that two teams have wrestled on the football field in an official high school dual meet, Jupiter coach Doug Rasmusson said.

The school hopes to draw 1,000 wrestling fans to the event, which has been billed “Wrestling Under The Lights.”

Rasmusson hopes to make it an annual event.

An injury kept Wellington wide receiver Ahmmon Richards on the sidelines during Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl at San Antonio’s Alamodome.

But the four-star recruit deemed the experience “once in a lifetime” after spending a week practicing and interacting with the nation’s top senior high school football players.

Richards, who was a member of the East team, injured his hamstring during practice on Tuesday and was unable to play Saturday. The East team lost to the West team 37-9.

He still suited up for the game – which was broadcast live to a nationwide audience – and signed autographs and mingled with fans afterwards.

The No. 1-ranked player on PBgametime’s 2016 Big Board, Richards continues to weigh his options after decommitting from Miami Oct. 25.

He has taken an official visit to Auburn, and has remaining visits scheduled with Miami (Jan. 15), Alabama (Jan. 22) and Tennessee (Jan. 29).

National Signing Day is Feb. 3.

Richards finished his senior season with 1,353 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. Wellington finished as runner-up in District 9-8A and advanced to the regional quarterfinals.

Last season, the Wolverines went 11-2 and came within one win of a state semifinals berth.

“He’s meant everything to the program,” Wolverines coach Tom Abel said of Richards, who was named the Post’s 2015 Large Schools Offensive Player of the Year.

“He’s changed the face of Wellington High School football just by who he is as a person. He believed in our system and in our coaching, and he believed in the school. We’ve accomplished a lot here.”

The Pride (18-0) won a trio of games last week, while the Scots (17-0) earned wins over Coral Springs Charter and Saint John Paul II Academy.

No. 3 Dwyer and No. 4 Wellington also held their spots, while Royal Palm Beach moved into the No. 5 position after beating Forest Hill and No. 6 Santaluces last week. The Wildcats have won five of their past six games. Rounding out the top 10 are Lake Worth, Palm Beach Lakes, Boca Raton and Suncoast.

Boys basketball top 10 entering Week 7:

1. Grandview Prep (18-0): Pride 9-0 out of county
2. St. Andrew’s (17-0): Scots allowing 41.3 points per game
3. Dwyer (14-2): Panthers have won 13-of-14
4. Wellington (15-4): Trent Frazier averaging 20.1 points
5. Royal Palm Beach (10-4): Wildcats have won 5-of-6
6. Santaluces (12-5): Four players scoring in double figures
7. Lake Worth (12-4): Win streak snapped by Santaluces
8. Palm Beach Lakes (10-4): Rams play Royal Palm Beach Tues.
9. Boca Raton (12-6): Bobcats are 7-3 in district play
10. Suncoast (10-4): Chargers fall to Dwyer, PB Lakes
Also considered: Oxbridge Academy (10-4); Benjamin (11-5)

Games of the Week:

No. 5 Royal Palm Beach (10-4) at No. 8 Palm Beach Lakes (10-4), 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: This will be the second meeting of the season between the District 13-7A rivals, with the Wildcats winning the opener Nov. 17 in a close contest at home. Expect another tight one here. Both Royal Palm Beach and Palm Beach Lakes are in the middle of the district playoff race, and this game could be key for positioning. The Wildcats have gotten great production from junior swingmen Leonard Thorpe and Jules Jasmin, while guard John Blanchard pitched in 24 points against No. 3 Dwyer on Tuesday. Junior guard Lavorris Givins continues to lead the way offensively for Palm Beach Lakes, scoring 17.2 points per game. Palm Beach Lakes has won three straight since making the finals of the D-Hop Holiday Tournament, while the Wildcats beat No. 6 Santaluces last week and came within three points of knocking off No. 3 Dwyer.

No. 9 Boca Raton (12-6) vs. Miami-Central (13-3) at Martin Luther King Tournament, Coral Springs, 8:30 p.m. Friday: The Bobcats are the second of seven Palm Beach County teams to tip off at this weekend’s South Florida Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Classic, and they draw a tough test in the Rockets. Miami Central has lost just three games this season; one to state-ranked Miami-Norland, one to an 11-win Miami-Dr. Krop team, and the third to defending Class 7A state champion Pompano Beach-Ely. The Rockets have been solid defensively, but could be challenged by the Bobcats’ balanced stable of shooters. Austin Aubrey, Morgan Zook, Cade Long and Eli O’Connor all are averaging at least 10 points per game for Boca Raton.

No. 3 Dwyer (14-2) vs. Coral Springs (12-4) at Martin Luther King Tournament, Coral Springs, 4:30 p.m. Saturday: The Panthers have traveled to Broward County multiple times this season for tournament play, and will visit again Saturday to face a strong Colts team that has won nine of its past 12 games. Dwyer has won three straight since falling to unbeaten St. Andrew’s at the Kreul Classic last month, including a pair of wins against ranked teams. Forward Jordan Gonzalez has been a force on the boards for Dwyer since coming over from the football team, while the Panthers have gotten balanced production on offense. Sophomore guard Miles Coleman and junior guard Tommie Luke have had a solid stretch of games offensively for Dwyer.

Arbogast, who retired in 2014, coached at both schools during his 30-year career. He spent seven seasons at Cardinal Newman and 23 at Palm Beach Gardens.

During that span, he won 450 games and four district championships. His teams also advanced to the regional championship game three times. He was a three-time Palm Beach County Coach of the Year.

Arbogast never shied away from creating a challenging schedule to test his players.

“I’ve never been one to schedule “cupcakes” to pad my own coaching resume,” he told the Post in 2014. “I developed my coaching philosophy from my coach at Palos Verdes (Calif.), who would schedule games against the likes of Long Beach Poly and Compton High School.

“My teams have traveled to tournaments in Southern California and all areas of Florida, including Fort Walton Beach, Tampa, Naples, Key West, Jacksonville, Orlando and the Space Coast,” he added.

Arbogast also coached cross-country, bowling, boys volleyball and track at Palm Beach Gardens and was the school’s assistant athletic director for 15 years.

He will be honored at halftime of Tuesday’s game, which tips off at 7:30 p.m.

Football: Who was Palm Beach County’s best running back in 2015?

With the 2015 football season in the rear-view mirror and the Palm Beach Post All-Area teams published, we thought it would be a good idea to let Palm Beach County football fans decide who they think were the best players in the county this season.

Boca Raton running back Bryce Hill

Boca Raton running back Bryce Hill

Each day, we’ll narrow the selections to who we think were five of the top players at each position this past season, and from there, you choose who you believe was the best. You can still vote for the county’s county’s best quarterback here.

Today’s position is running back. All five of these backs were standouts in 2015, and all led their teams to the playoffs.

Here are the five:

Bryce Hill, Boca Raton, Sr.: One of the area’s top backs this season, he rushed for 1,481 yards and 10 touchdowns and helped lead the surprising Bobcats to the Class 8A regional semifinals. Boca Raton finished 9-3.

Travis Homer, Oxbridge Academy, Sr.: The UM commit played a key role in helping the ThunderWolves win their first-ever district championship this season. He rushed for 1,315 yards and 11 touchdowns, including a 145-yard effort against district rival American Heritage.

Dontavius Monroe, Atlantic, Sr.: The two-star recruit starred in the Eagles’ ground-heavy offense before sustaining a season-ending knee injury Oct. 30. He finished with 711 rushing yards and seven touchdowns (he averaged 9.4 yards per carry) and also caught eight passes for 145 yards and one TD.

Jakairi Moses, Dwyer, Jr.: He completed a standout junior season with 1,326 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. The Panthers won the District 13-7A championship and advanced to the Class 7A regional semifinals.

Devin Singletary, American Heritage, Sr.: The Illinois commit and Small Schools Offensive Player of the Year helped carry the Stallions to their second consecutive Class 3A state championship game, finishing with 1,766 yards and 18 touchdowns.
