A former softball and basketball standout at Park Vista, the senior is one of 50 players named to the list.
The Collegiate Player of the Year Award, in its 17th season, is considered one of the most prestigious honors in women’s collegiate softball.
Last season, Lochten led the Owls in a number of offensive categories, including batting average (.408) and RBIs (41). She also set single-season records for runs scored (58), slugging percentage (.834) and on-base percentage (.539).
She is FAU’s all-time leader in career stolen bases with 92, and last month she was named Conference USA’s Preseason Player of the Year.
As a Park Vista senior in 2014, Lochten batted .348 with one home run, 12 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases. She helped lead the Cobras to the Class 8A regional finals.
Earlier that year, she helped carry the Park Vista girls basketball team to a state semifinals appearance – the first in school history.
