John I. Leonard boys basketball coach Jim Howell reached a career milestone Tuesday with the Lancers’ 92-56 victory over Fort Lauderdale-Elite Academy.

The longtime coach picked up his 300th career win, and now is 300-209 overall in 22 seasons of coaching.
Howell, who led the Lancers to the Class 8A state semifinals in 2014, has spent the past 17 seasons at John I. Leonard. He also spent five seasons at Boca Raton.
During his career, he has won four district championships and one regional title, and made one state Final Four.
John I. Leonard was the District 9-9A runner-up last season.
