Baseball: Trinity Christian’s Angel Tiburcio named to MaxPreps All-American Team

The postseason honors continue to pour in for Trinity Christian utility player Angel Tiburcio.

The 2017 Palm Beach Post Small Schools Player of the Year was named to the 2017 MaxPreps Small Schools All-American Baseball Team Monday.

Tiburcio, a pitcher/infielder who helped lead the Warriors to the Class 2A state championship in May, was named to the first team as an infielder.

The junior batted .440 with seven home runs this season, and also went 4-1 with with 53 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched.

He was Palm Beach County’s Triple Crown winner in 2017, pacing the county in batting average, home runs and RBIs (36), according to the High School Baseball Network.

Last week Tiburcio was named to the American Family Insurance All-USA Florida Baseball Team. Dwyer pitcher Shane Roberts also was named to that team.

Tiburcio is an FIU commit.
