Cross-country: State championships set for Saturday

Palm Beach County will be well-represented at the 2015 FHSAA Cross-Country State Championships in Tallahassee this weekend.

The event will be held Saturday at Apalachee Regional Park. The Class 3A girls race starts at 7:30 a.m., and will be followed by Class 4A girls  (7:55 a.m.); Class 3A boys (8:20 a.m.); Class 4A boys (8:45 a.m.); Class 1A girls (9:10 a.m.); Class 2A girls (9:35 a.m.); Class 1A boys (10 a.m.); and Class 2A boys (10:25 a.m.).

Area schools scheduled to participate are:
4A girls: Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Park Vista, Royal Palm Beach, Wellington
4A boys: Boca Raton, John I. Leonard, Jupiter, Seminole Ridge, Spanish River
3A girls: Dwyer
2A girls: St. Andrew’s, Suncoast
1A girls: Boca Raton Christian, Benjamin, King’s Academy, Jupiter Christian
1A boys: Boca Raton Christian, Jupiter Christian, King’s Academy, St. John Paul II Academy

Defending team champions are Winter Park (4A girls), St. Johns-Creekside (3A girls), Jacksonville-Bolles (2A girls), Melbourne-Holy Trinity (1A girls); Longwood-Lyman (4A boys), Tallahassee-Chiles (3A boys, Winter Park-Trinity Prep (2A boys); Melbourne-Holy Trinity (1A boys).
