The Stallions’ standout attack was named the 2017 Florida Dairy Farmers’ Miss Lacrosse following a final round of voting by a statewide panel of high school lacrosse coaches and media representatives.

Wurzburger, who as an eighth-grader last season became the first player in U.S. prep lacrosse history to record both 100 or more goals (100) and assists (103) in a season, bettered those numbers this year.

She scored 101 goals and added 115 assists to lead American Heritage to the regional finals. The Stallions finished 19-1.

Wurzburger, a Syracuse commit, totaled 77 points in the voting to finish ahead of Orlando-Bishop Moore senior Nicole Blystone (61 points) and Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas senior Ali Beekhuizen (59 points).

She was named the Post’s Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2016.

The Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards honor the state’s top athletes and coaches in all 30 sanctioned and recognized Florida High School Athletic Association sports.
