Honorees are graduating seniors who received a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA, while earning letters in at least two Florida High School Athletic Association-sanctioned varsity sports during their junior and senior years.
They will be honored at a commemorative banquet June 12 in Gainesville. Each student – 12 boys and 12 girls – will receive a $1,700 scholarship.
Out of the 24 All-State Team members, one boy and one girl will be named the “Ron Davis Scholar-Athlete of the Year,” the FHSAA’s most prestigious honor bestowed on any active student-athlete. The winners of this award will earn an additional $4,600 in scholarship funds – $6,300 in total.
Cropp, who will compete with the Bucs’ boys lacrosse team in a second-round playoff game tonight, has earned four letters as a varsity lacrosse player and golfer. He was captain of both teams as a senior.
He also is Benjamin’s student body president, serves on the school’s honor council, and has performed more than 500 community service hours.
He will play lacrosse at Yale University.
