Ahmmon Richards committed to the University of Miami more than a year ago.
But it only took a few hours after Coach Al Golden’s firing for the Wellington wide receiver to change his mind.
Richards, the No. 1-ranked player on PBgametime’s 2016 Big Board, decommitted from the Hurricanes Sunday night, he announced through Twitter.
Richards, a four-star recruit who is rated the No. 66 receiver in the country by Rivals, remained steadfast in his commitment to the Hurricanes despite UM’s struggles this season.

But a 58-0 home loss to Clemson on Saturday followed by Golden’s firing a day later spurred his decision to re-open his recruitment.
“Coach Golden, he’s like the main reason (he committed),” Richards told the Post on Saturday. “All of them basically (are) the reason I committed in the first place.”
Richards has scholarship offers from several top programs, among them Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee.
For the season, he’s caught 56 passes for 1,238 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Wolverines coach Tom Abel said he and his staff are supportive of Richards’ decision to re-open his recruiting.
“He has to do what’s right for him and his family,” Abel said. “He just wants to go to a place where there’s stability, and right now there’s a lot of instability at Miami. It’s his call and his choice, and we’ll stick behind him 100 percent with whatever he does.”
