Each Thursday leading up to football season, we will post a new Q&A with a different 2017 recruit. This week, we talked to Glades Central quarterback James Blackman.

A pro-style quarterback who threw for over 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns last season, the 6-foot-5, 172-pound senior is rated three stars by 247Sports. He has drawn 17 college offers, among them Florida State, Miami, Louisville and West Virginia.

Blackman is the No. 8-ranked player on the Post’s 2017 Big Board.

Here’s what he had to say:

You hold 17 offers. Which ones are your front runners?

West Virginia, Utah and FAU, because they are recruiting me the hardest.

When do you plan on making a decision?

I plan to decide before the season starts.

What are you looking for in a school?

I want to attend a school that will prepare me for life after football.

What are the pros and cons of the recruiting process?

The pros are that you receive a lot of love, and the cons are that you really don’t have time to yourself and time to think about your decision, because everything happens so fast.
