The 2017 recruiting class is one of the most talented to come through Palm Beach County in years, so it’s time to get to know some of the county’s top prospects.

Each Thursday leading up to football season, we will post a new Q&A with a different 2017 recruit. We’ll start with uncommitted Dwyer defensive back Cedrick Dort.

Dort has racked up a total of 23 offers, among them Wisconsin, Iowa State, Kentucky and Syracuse. A three-star recruit, he plans to announce his college choice Aug. 2.

Here’s what he had to say:

You have 23 offers. Are there any frontrunners? I’m leaning a tad bit toward Wisconsin, Iowa State and Kentucky.

Which schools have impressed you the most? Iowa State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Wisconsin.

What are you looking for in a school? I’m looking for a home away from home-type feeling in a school, and a coaching staff I can come to about anything. I can’t forget about education, because that’s one of the main things I’m looking for also. I’m looking for a school that can set me up for success and change my life, my family’s life, and the next generation in my family’s life.

How would you describe the recruiting process? The recruiting process for me has been the most exciting process in my life, but also frustrating. But at the end of the day when you get that feeling that schools are battling to get you to their school, it’s a feeling I will never forget. So I’m enjoying every moment of it.”

Which schools have you visited? I visited Iowa State in late June, and I’m visiting Kentucky, Cincinnati, Louisville, and probably West Virginia.
