Chris Hobbs has been hired to coach the King’s Academy boys varsity basketball team and serve as an associate athletic director, the school announced Wednesday.

He takes over the Lions’ hoops program from Nate Weston, and brings plenty of coaching and athletic administration experience to King’s.
Hobbs has spent the past 16 years as an athletic director, school administrator and head basketball coach.
He was named the 2003 Delaney (Va.) Athletic Conference Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, and holds four invitational championships and one divisional championship in nine years at Timothy Christian School in Piscataway, N.J.
Hobbs is a two-time Greater Middlesex (N.J.) Conference Senior All-Star Coach, and the Greater Middlesex Conference Division Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year for 2013 and 2014.
Eleven of his players went on to play college basketball.
