Bradden, 24, a former standout quarterback for the Hurricanes, was recognized for his achievements in helping move the school’s football program in a positive direction.
During the past season – his first as head coach – Bradden stressed the value of hard work, responsibility and academic achievement.
“I want to get them to believe in themselves,” Bradden said of his players, who endured two consecutive winless seasons prior to his arrival. The Hurricanes finished 1-8 this year.
“Once I get them to believe in themselves, the football part is easy. Student-athletes are students for a reason. If they do right in the classroom, it rolls over onto the field. Education comes first.”
Bradden was invited to participate in AFCA’s inaugural 30 Under 30 Coaches Leadership Institute Jan. 10 in San Antonio.
“I just want to thank God for this chance,” Bradden said. “I’m happy to be able to learn at the AFCA 30 Under 30.”
