Boys basketball: Grandview Prep to host Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Classic

The 24th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Basketball Classic is moving to Palm Beach County this year.

Grandview Prep will host the 32-team boys competition, which will be played Saturday and Monday.

Eight Palm Beach County teams are scheduled to participate, including St. Andrew’s, Jupiter, Palm Beach Lakes, Boca Raton, Dwyer, Benjamin, Park Vista and Atlantic.

The field is composed mostly of South Florida teams, though teams from Jacksonville, Live Oak and Oldsmar are scheduled to play.

Here’s the schedule:

Saturday

​9 a.m. (Game 1): St. Thomas Aquinas vs St. Andrew’s
10:30 a.m. (Game 2): Archbishop Mcarthey vs Jupiter High
Noon (Game 3): Mater Lakes Academy vs Florida Christian
1:30 p.m. (Game 4): Mater Academy vs Palm Beach Lakes
3 p.m. (Game 5): Gulliver Prep vs Boca Raton High
4:30 p.m. (Game 6): North Miami High vs Dillard High
6 p.m. (Game 7): Miami Carol City vs William T. Dwyer
7:30 p.m. (Game 8): Oldsmar Christian vs Miami Christian

Monday

9 a.m. (Game 9): Westwood Christian vs Ft. Lauderdale
10:30 a.m. (Game 10): Belen Jesuit vs Hialeah-Mater Lakes
Noon (Game 11): Hialeah-Mater Academy vs. Benjamin
1:30 p.m. (Game 12): Victory Christian vs Coral Springs Charter
3 p.m. (Game 13): McArthur High vs Park Vista High
4:30 p.m. (Game 14): Miami Palmetto vs Atlantic
6 p.m. (Game 15): Miami Norland vs Westminister Academy
7:30 p.m. (Game 16): Miami Christian vs Blanche Ely
