With the 2017 football season in the rear-view mirror and the Palm Beach Post All-Area teams published, we thought it would be a good idea to let Palm Beach County football fans decide who they think were the best players in the county this season.
Each day, we’ll narrow the selections to who we think were five of the top players at each position this past season, and from there, you choose who you believe was the best. You can still vote for the county’s best quarterback here, best running back here, and best wide receiver here.
Today’s position is offensive lineman. All played key roles for their teams in 2017.
Here are the five:
1. Jordon Earle, Forest Hill, Sr.: The Appalachian State signee and four-year starter helped pave the way for the Falcons to amass 3,000 rushing yards. He finished with more than 40 pancake blocks.
2. Vincent Lumia, Suncoast, Sr.: A physically punishing run blocker, the 6-foot-4, 283-pound senior also did not allow a sack.
3. Renato Brown, Palm Beach Central, Jr.: A 6-foot-5, 310-pound tackle who has committed to the University of Miami, he recorded 33 pancake blocks for the district-champion Broncos.
4. Martin Weisz, Benjamin, Sr.: The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Virginia signee is rated the No. 112 offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports.
5. Willie Canty, Glades Central, Sr.: Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing nearly 300 pounds, the three-star prospect was a huge presence on the line this season for the Raiders.
