With the 2017 football season in the rear-view mirror and the Palm Beach Post All-Area teams published, we thought it would be a good idea to let Palm Beach County football fans decide who they think were the best players in the county this season.
Each day, we’ll narrow the selections to who we think were five of the top players at each position this past season, and from there, you choose who you believe was the best. You can still vote for the county’s best quarterback here.
Today’s position is running back. All five of these backs were standouts in 2017.
Here are the five:
1. Bry’yon Jones, Forest Hill, So.: He helped anchor a strong Falcons’ ground game as a sophomore, finishing with 1,078 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. He recorded 1,422 all-purpose yards for playoff-bound Forest Hill.
2. Shelley Singletary, Atlantic, Sr.: He played a key role in leading the Eagles to the Class 8A state championship game, rushing for 1,012 yards on 120 carries. He scored 12 touchdowns and added 420 return yards.
