Glades Day tight end Jorge Acosta is the lone Palm Beach County athlete selected to compete in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s 63rd North/South All-Star Football Classic.
The game will be played Saturday at The Villages High School.
Acosta, a senior, will compete with the South All-Stars.
A total of 76 players were selected to participate in Saturday’s competition, which will feature North and South All-Star squads. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Acosta finished the 2017 season with 27 catches for 394 yards and four touchdowns at tight end. At defensive end, he finished with 46 tackles – five for loss – seven sacks, and a forced fumble.
He helped lead the Gators to a 4-4 record this season and a berth in the Class 2A regional semifinals.
Acosta’s coach, Eric Pitts, will help coach the South All-Stars Saturday.
