The Florida High School Athletic Association released its playoff brackets for football in a selection show that streamed live this morning on NFHSnetwork.com.
Thirteen Palm Beach County teams qualified for the postseason based on the FHSAA’s new points system.
They are: Park Vista, Palm Beach Central, Seminole Ridge and Atlantic (Class 8A); Dwyer and Forest Hill (Class 7A); Glades Central (Class 4A); Oxbridge Academy, Benjamin, King’s Academy and American Heritage (Class 3A); Glades Day (Class 2A); and Pahokee (Class 1A).

The first regional playoff games for all eight classes take place Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Below is the breakdown of Palm Beach County’s postseason qualifiers:
Class 8A
Four Palm Beach County teams qualified for the postseason in the state’s largest classification, with district champions Palm Beach Central and Atlantic leading the way.
The Broncos, seeded No. 2, are the area’s highest-seeded team in 8A, and will host No. 7 Seminole Ridge Friday. The Eagles, seeded fourth, will host No. 5 Plantation.
Wild card spots went to the Hawks and Park Vista, seeded eighth. The Cobras moved up two spots last week to clinch the final postseason berth in Region 3, and will play No. 1 Miramar.

Class 7A
Dwyer picked up a No. 2 seed in its region, and will host Hialeah Gardens-Mater Academy Friday; while Forest Hill earned its first playoff berth since 1996. The No. 5 Falcons will travel to No. 4 Pembroke Pines-West Broward.
Class 4A
Glades Central, a fourth seed, will travel to Fort Lauderdale to play No. 1 University in a rematch from Aug. 25.
University won that contest 13-7.

Class 3A
Four Palm Beach County teams qualified in this class, with No. 2 Oxbridge Academy set to host No. 3 King’s Academy in its region.
No. 2 Benjamin, which snapped the Lions’ 20-game winning streak Friday, will host Homestead-Everglades Prep, while No. 4 American Heritage gets No. 1 Hollywood-Chaminade Madonna.
Class 2A
Glades Day rebounded from an 0-3 start to earn the fourth seed in its region. The Gators will travel to Moore Haven to play the unbeaten Terriers.
Class 1A
Pahokee is the top seed in its region, and will host Williston Friday. The Blue Devils (7-2) are coming off an overtime win against Glades Central in the Muck Bowl.
