Park Vista athlete John Smith picked up a big honor Tuesday afternoon.
The Holy Cross commit was named the Miami Dolphins’ High School Player of the Week.

Former Dolphins tight end Troy Drayton, who now serves as the franchise’s Manager of Youth Programs, stopped by the school Tuesday to present Smith with his award.
Smith, a senior, will be honored at the Dolphins’ home football game Oct. 22 vs. the New York Jets.
He has helped lead the No. 6 Cobras to a 4-2 record this season, throwing for 200 yards and two touchdowns, and rushing for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
Smith also has caught nine passes for 212 yards and three scores, and has returned a kickoff for 65 yards and a touchdown.
