Atlantic goes into the playoffs this week as the state’s top-ranked Class 8A team.
The Eagles (10-0) maintained the No. 1 spot in the AP state football poll released Tuesday. Atlantic finished the regular season last week with a 32-21 victory against previously unbeaten Dwyer.

The Eagles finished with 130 points, 22 ahead of second-place Vero Beach. Jacksonville-Mandarin was third with 86 points.
Atlantic hosts Wellington in a Class 8A regional quarterfinal on Friday.
The Panthers (9-1) dropped from No. 1 to No. 5 in the 7A state poll. Dwyer opens the postseason Friday at home against Pompano Beach-Ely.
Pahokee (8-2) dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 in Class 1A following its 35-14 loss to Glades Central in the Muck Bowl. The Blue Devils host Dixie County in a regional quarterfinal on Friday.
The Raiders, Oxbridge Academy and American Heritage received votes in this week’s final regular season poll.
