Defending state champion Boca Raton held on to the No. 21 spot Tuesday in the MaxPreps Top 25 girls high school volleyball rankings.
The Bobcats opened the season Monday with a sweep of cross-town rival Olympic Heights.

The Bobcats are one of two Florida teams to earn a spot in the this week’s Xcellent 25 rankings. The other is Orlando-Bishop Moore, which moved up a spot to No. 7.
Boca Raton lost two senior starters from last year’s team, but returns a handful of impact players this season, including setter Tatianna Rivas, libero Laura Stevenson, middle Lili Henderson and outside hitter Vittoria Sottani.
Sottani had six aces and four digs in the Bobcats’ season-opening win, while Henderson added five kills and a block, and Rivas contributed 20 assists and four digs.
