Spanish River senior Eduardo Blochtein shot a 1-over 73 Tuesday for a share of the first-round lead at the FHSAA Class 3A golf state championships.
The two-day event at the Mission Inn and Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills wraps up today.
Blochtein is tied with Seminole’s Anthony Derosa for first place. Boca Raton sophomore Anthony Muttillo is one shot back at 2-over 74. He’s tied with three other golfers for third place. Lake Worth senior Jordan Reeves is tied for 17th at 5-over 77.
Boca Raton is third in the boys team event with a first-round total of 313. The Sharks are four shots behind leader Lake Mary. Naples-Gulf Coast is in second at 311. Spanish River is tied for sixth at 318.
In the girls individual competition, Palm Beach Central junior Kaely Krayeski is tied for 12th at 3-over 75. She is seven shots behind leaders Alyssa Lamoureux of Seminole and Sophie Liu of Melbourne-Viera.
In the girls team event, Jupiter is in ninth place after a first-round 339. Lake Mary is the leader at 299, followed by Niceville (303) and Melbourne-Viera (309).
Park Vista is tied for 12th at 357.
