Boys basketball: Five area players earn Class 1A-4A All-State honors

Five Palm Beach County athletes have been named to the 2016-2017 Boys Basketball All-State Teams for Classes 1A-4A.

The teams, released Tuesday, were picked by The Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) and Source Hoops.

Players were selected based on in-person evaluations, a review of all-area teams selected by media from around the state, and recognition from the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches.

No Palm Beach County player was selected to the Class 1A team. Grandview Prep guard Matthew Schner was named to the Class 2A first team; Village Academy guard David Smith was named to the Class 3A first team; FAU guard Dylan Bradley was named to the Class 4A third team; Yeshiva guard Ethan Lasko was named to the Class 4A third team; and Benjamin forward Ben Lubarsky was named to the Class 4A third team.

All five were All-Area first-team selections this season.
