King’s Academy junior Andrew Kozan won the Class 1A boys state golf championship Wednesday at Mission Inn and Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.

Kozan, who was in third place heading into the final round, shot a two-day total of 3-under-par 141 to edge St. Petersburg-Shorecrest’s Greyson Porter by one shot. Michael Mattiace of Jacksonville-Bolles was third at 1-over, while Jupiter Christian sophomore Bryan Teoh Wyang finished in a tie for fourth at 4-over.
Cardinal Newman junior Jeffrey Cunningham finished in a tie for 14th at 11-over 155.
In the boys team competition, King’s Academy finished fifth with a two-day total of 637. Cardinal Newman was eighth at 645. Lake Mary Prep was the state champion at 615, followed by Winter Park-Circle Christian at 623 and Windermere Prep at 624.
In the girls team competition, American Heritage finished fourth and Benjamin was fifth. The Stallions shot a two-day total of 630, while the Bucs finished at 640. Lake Mary Prep was the champion at 573, followed by Winter Park-Circle Christian (589) and Windermere Prep (590).
St. Andrew’s sophomore Zora Gittens was the highest-placing individual finisher with a two-day total of 7-over 151. She finished tied for 21st. Benjamin sophomore Sabrina Fonda finished in a tie for 28th at 9-over 153, while American Heritage freshman Antonio Herrera tied for 31st at 10-over 154.
Kelsey Zeng of Orlando-First Academy was the champion at 5-under 139.
