The inaugural Keiser University football program continues to make a splash in recruiting more than a week after National Signing Day.

The Seahawks and head coach Doug Socha signed six players to national letters of intent at the school Thursday night. All played high school football in Palm Beach County.
That group includes Oxbridge Academy wide receiver Cade Socha — Doug Socha’s son — Atlantic linebacker Jaquell Parrish; Palm Beach Lakes defensive lineman Marco Burgess; Palm Beach Lakes wide receiver Cody Cuff; Atlantic defensive back Troy Sloan; and Cardinal Newman wide receiver Amari Hayes.
“We are excited about the great group of Palm Beach County students who signed today,” athletic director Kris Swogger said. “They will help lay a great foundation for Keiser football.”
Thursday’s signing ceremony followed three others that were held on National Signing Day last Wednesday.
Palm Beach Gardens quarterback Eli Mathews, Oxbridge Academy defensive tackle Simeon Phillips and American Heritage lineman Pierre Michel all signed with Keiser at their high schools.
“We are building a foundation of players,” Socha said. “Each one of these guys are what we look for – kids that want to compete in the classroom and love the process of development.”
Socha, the former head football coach at Oxbridge Academy, was named head coach at Keiser last month. The Seahawks, a future NAIA program, are scheduled to begin playing in 2018 in an on-campus stadium.
Keiser is slated to play in the The Sun Conference, along with the rest of the school’s athletic teams.
