With Dwyer’s 64-56 loss to Fort Lauderdale-University at the Southern Shootout Saturday, the Panthers dropped from the No. 1 spot to No. 3, while previous No. 2 St. Andrew’s took over the top spot.

Wellington moved up two spots to No. 2, while Dwyer, unbeaten Grandview Prep and unbeaten Oxbridge Academy round out the top 5.

Boys basketball Top 10 after Week 3

1. St. Andrew’s (9-0): Scots allowing 33 points per game
2. Wellington (6-1): G Trent Frazier surpasses 1,000-point scoring mark
3. Dwyer (5-1): Loss to Fort Lauderdale-University is Panthers’ first
4. Grandview Prep (7-0): Pride have won 39 in a row dating to last season
5. Oxbridge Academy (3-0): ThunderWolves play No. 7 Cardinal Newman Tues.
6. Palm Beach Lakes (6-1): Rams have won six straight
7. Cardinal Newman (6-1): Crusaders fall to Palm Beach Lakes
8. Lake Worth (6-1): Trojans’ first loss comes to Atlantic
9. Suncoast (5-2): Both Chargers’ losses have come to ranked teams
10. Boca Raton (5-3): Bobcats have won four of their last five

This week’s top games:

No. 7 Cardinal Newman (6-1) at No. 5 Oxbridge Academy (3-0), 7 p.m. Tuesday: This will be the first game between the Crusaders and ThunderWolves since last year’s Class 4A regional semifinals – a game Oxbridge won 57-46 on the road. Like last year, the teams are grouped in the same district – 13-5A – and both will have plenty of motivation to get off to a good start in district play. The ThunderWolves and their talented backcourt remain unbeaten following a 53-47 victory over a very good Fort Lauderdale-Pine Crest team Dec. 6. The Crusaders won their first six games before falling 64-51 to Class 7A Palm Beach Lakes on Saturday.

No. 6 Palm Beach Lakes (6-1) at No. 3 Dwyer (5-1), 6 p.m. Friday: This key district contest features a trio of impact players in the Rams’ Lavorris Givins and the Panthers’ Miles Coleman and Tommie Luke. Both teams also have strong supporting casts, so expect a good one. Palm Beach Lakes has been on a roll since a season-opening loss to Royal Palm Beach, winning six in a row and handing No. 7 Cardinal Newman its first loss Saturday. Dwyer won five straight before falling 64-56 to Fort Lauderdale-University in the Southern Shootout Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.
