A trio of 2017 standouts were named to Prep Hoops’ boys basketball Preseason All-State Team Tuesday.
Wellington guard Trent Frazier and St. Andrew’s combo guard Anthony Polite were named to the first team, while Cardinal Newman guard K.J. Fitzgerald made the third team.
Frazier committed to Illinois in August. He was the Post’s 2016 Large Schools Player of the Year after averaging 21 points, six assists and 2.2 steals per game last season.
He is the No. 101-ranked player in the Rivals 150 2017 prospect rankings, and also is ranked No. 15 in HoopSeen’s Florida Rankings for the Class of 2017.
Polite committed to Florida State in August. He was named the Post’s 2016 Small Schools Player of the Year after averaging 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals for St. Andrew’s last season.
He is HoopSeen’s No. 8-ranked player in Florida, and also is ranked No. 82 nationally.
Fitzgerald was named to the Post’s Small Schools First Team as a junior last year. He helped lead the Crusaders to the Class 4A regional semifinals.
