The Eagles (1-0), who defeated Wellington 42-21 on Friday, were ranked No. 7 to open the season. Two teams ahead of Atlantic last week – Pembroke Pines-Flanagan and Deerfield Beach – lost in Week 1 and dropped below the Eagles.
Dwyer maintained its No. 4 ranking in Class 7A. The Panthers defeated Boynton Beach 40-0 Friday.
Also earning state rankings this week are Oxbridge Academy, which jumped into the Class 3A poll at No. 4 after upsetting Pembroke Pines-Flanagan; and Pahokee, which is No. 3 in Class 1A. The Blue Devils defeated Seminole Ridge 20-14.
Other Palm Beach County teams receiving votes were Palm Beach Gardens (8A); Palm Beach Lakes (7A); Glades Central (4A) and American Heritage (3A).
