Week 1 of the 2016 football season kicks off two days from now, and a pair of games featuring Palm Beach County teams are among the best on the schedule.

FloridaHSFootball.com via USA Today ranked its top 10 games for Week 1, with Oxbridge Academy vs. Pembroke Pines-Flanagan and American Heritage vs. Naples making the list.
The ThunderWolves, ranked No. 7 in the Post Top 10, travel to Pembroke Pines to face the defending Class 8A state champion Falcons.
Flanagan, which returns standout defensive back Stanford Samuels – an FSU commit – is ranked No. 2 in the AP state poll. The Falcons did not play a Kickoff Classic game last week.
The ThunderWolves routed Seminole-Osceola in their Kickoff Classic game on Friday.
American Heritage, ranked No. 2 by the Post and No. 2 in the Class 3A state poll, will play Naples on the road.
The Golden Eagles lost in the Class 6A state semifinals last season and finished 11-2. Last week they earned a 40-0 Kickoff Classic win against St. Peterburg-Lakewood.
Naples is ranked No. 6 in Class 6A.
The state’s No. 1 game this week is Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas at Miami-Booker T. Washington. Both are defending state champions.
