The Panthers (6-0) moved up to No. 1 following their 42-35 win over Wellington Friday coupled with Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas’ 6-3 loss to Deerfield Beach.
Dwyer becomes the first Palm Beach County football team to be ranked No. 1 this season. Atlantic isn’t far behind, tying for the No. 2 ranking in Class 8A.
The Eagles (6-0), who shut out Santaluces 35-0 on Friday, moved up a spot from No. 3. Vero Beach is tied with Atlantic at No. 2. Miami-Columbus Catholic is the state’s top-ranked Class 8A team.
Oxbridge moved up to No. 4 in Class 3A following its 52-20 win over DeLand on Thursday, while Pahokee maintained its No. 4 ranking in Class 4A.
Also earning votes in this week’s state poll are Boca Raton (Class 8A), Glades Central (Class 4A), and American Heritage (Class 3A).
