Bureau, who helped lead the Wolverines to the Class 8A state championship as a junior in 2015, has signed with West Hills Community College in Coalinga, Calif.
The Falcons compete in the California Community College Athletic Association’s Central Valley Conference, and have qualified for the playoffs in 10 out of the past 14 years.
The 6-foot-4 Bureau missed most of his senior season following shoulder surgery, but as a junior he led Wellington in 3-pointers. He also shot 44 percent from 3-point range and averaged nine points per game.
Bureau scored 30 points and hit the winning shot for the Wolverines in a semifinal win against Park Vista at the D-Hop Classic in December 2014.
“Ethan is an exceptional shooter who hit some key shots at key moments during our run to a state title,” Wellington coach Matt Colin said. “He is going to have the opportunity to develop, get stronger, and play a full season next year.
“He’s a full qualifier, so he could come out of junior college after one season if the situation is a good one.”
