The reigning Post Small Schools Boys Basketball Player of the Year, who is leading his Florida Vipers travel team in scoring this summer, recently added a TCU offer to the more than 20 offers he already holds, according to a story posted Tuesday on 247Sports.
Miami and Florida State are among the schools that have extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-6 Polite, who averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists in leading St. Andrew’s to the Class 4A regional finals last season.
He keeps in touch with Hurricanes’ coaches regularly, he told 247Sports, and took an unofficial visit to the Coral Gables campus last month.
“I really enjoyed the visit,” said Polite, who spent much of his childhood in Switzerland. “I think it’s a great school. The campus was beautiful. They have a great coaching staff, a great scheme, in a great spot in a beautiful city, so you couldn’t ask for more.”
Polite, ranked No. 8 among Class of 2017 Florida recruits by HoopSeen, also has taken an unofficial visit to FSU – for whom his dad, Michael, played from 1988-91 – and said he plans on taking official visits before the high school season gets underway.
He has led the Vipers to a 9-3 record this summer.
