Boys basketball: St. Andrews’ Polite, Wellington’s Frazier earn national rankings

HoopSeen released its national boys basketball rankings for the Class of 2017 Thursday, and the list includes a pair of Palm Beach County players.

St. Andrew’s combo guard Anthony Polite landed at No. 99, and Wellington guard Trent Frazier is ranked No. 120.

Both Polite and Frazier led their teams to the regional finals in 2016, and both earned numerous postseason honors.

Polite, an All-State first-teamer and three-star composite recruit according to 247Sports, was named the Post’s Small Schools Player of the Year after averaging 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

He’s drawn numerous Division I college offers, among them Florida State, Miami, Kansas State and Boston College.

Polite is playing for the Florida Vipers travel team this summer. He said in March that he to make his college decision before the fall.

Frazier, a four-star composite recruit according to 247Sports, was named the Post’s Large Schools Player of the Year after averaging 21 points, six assists and 2.2 steals.

He also was named to the FABC/Source Hoops Class 8A All-State first team.

Frazier, who is competing for the Wellington Wolves travel team this summer, has drawn offers from Illinois, Baylor, Kansas State and FAU, among others.

The nation’s No. 1-ranked player according to HoopSeen is power forward Wendell Carter of Pace Academy in Atlanta.

Tampa Catholic power forward Kevin Knox is Florida’s highest-ranked player at No. 7. Eleven players from Florida among the top 125.
