FHSAA announces finalists for “Name the Tradition” contest

The Florida High School Athletic Association received more than 425 submissions for its “Name the Tradition” contest.

The FHSAA has named five finalists for its ‘Name the Tradition’ contest.

On Tuesday, that number was whittled to five.

The FHSAA announced the five finalists for its three-week promotion, in which fans will rename the football state championships.

The finalists are:

Drive to December
Gridiron Glory Series
The Great Eight
Destination December
Stairway to State

The submission process for naming the state championships began on FHSAA.org April 25 and ended May 3. From there, the list was narrowed down to the final five by a blue ribbon prep-sports media committee.

Fans can vote for their favorite through Friday on FHSAA.org. The winner will be announced Monday. To join the conversation on social media, use the hashtags #NameTheTradition and #FHSAA.
