Walford, a third-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2015, sustained the injury earlier this offseason.
It’s not clear when the accident occurred or what type of injury he sustained, but Walford is said to have had surgery weeks ago.
The incident has been kept under wraps since then, though Walford has shown improvement, according to Fox Sports.
He could return as early as training camp in July.
As a rookie last season, Walford caught 28 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns.
