Twenty-two area weightlifters, including a state-best 11 from Seminole Ridge, will compete in this weekend’s Florida High School Boys Weightlifting State Championships in Kissimmee.

The event will be held Friday and Saturday at the Kissimmee Civic Center.
In addition to Seminole Ridge, five other area schools will send competitors to the state championships. They are: John I. Leonard, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Central, Park Vista and Wellington.
