Sharrard, the Wildcats’ captain who competes in the 120-pound weight class, lost her semifinal match in triple overtime to the eventual state champion.
She finished the season 5-12, and earned three wins over male wrestlers.
Sharrard has wrestled on the Wildcats’ boys team for the past two seasons, and last year advanced to the regional tournament.
She’ll compete Saturday at the District 10-3A wrestling meet at Wellington.
“She’s such a hard worker,” longtime Royal Palm Beach coach Dan Moody said. “The kids thought so highly of her that they made her a captain as a sophomore. She works as hard as the boys, or harder. She’s tough, gritty and determined.”
Sharrard is a student in the school’s medical academy.
