With the 2015 football season in the rear-view mirror and the Palm Beach Post All-Area teams published, we thought it would be a good idea to let Palm Beach County football fans decide who they think were the best players in the county this season.

Each day, we’ll narrow the selections to who we think were five of the top players at each position this past season, and from there, you choose who you believe was the best. You can vote for the best defensive lineman here, the best linebacker here, the best offensive lineman here, the best wide receiver here, the best quarterback here, and the best running back here.

Today’s position is defensive back. All five were anchors in the secondary for their teams, each of which advanced to the postseason in 2015.

Here are the five:

Da’Von Brown, Royal Palm Beach, Sr.: The FAU commit was a two-way standout for the Wildcats, playing wide receiver and cornerback. Defensively, he finished the season with 77 tackles and two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns.

D.J. Davis, American Heritage, Sr.: He followed a solid regular season with a huge postseason performance, helping carry the Stallions to the Class 3A state title game. Davis, whose offers include Middle Tennessee, Alcorn State and Lafayette, returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the playoffs.

George Hunter, Atlantic, Jr.: The Eagles’ defense was among the best in the area, and Hunter was a key contributor. The safety finished with 87 tackles, three interceptions and three sacks for Atlantic, which advanced to the Class 8A regional finals.

Thomas Neal, Village Academy, Sr.: The two-star recruit played a leading role on defense for the district runner-up Tigers, grabbing five interceptions and recovering a pair of fumbles. His offers include FAU, Robert Morris and South Alabama.

Devin Studstill, Palm Beach Gardens, Sr.: The Notre Dame commit had a big year on both sides of the ball for the district champion Gators, closing his standout varsity football career with 29 tackles and an interception.
