Santaluces linebacker Zach McCloud is headed to UM after all.
The four-star recruit, who decommitted from the Hurricanes Nov. 12 following coach Al Golden’s dismissal, announced through Twitter Friday night that he had committed to UM following an official visit to the school.
“I’ve known for a long time where I wanted to be,” McCloud said Friday. “I just kept my thoughts to myself, and tonight felt like a good time to let everyone else know. I’m glad to be back home.”
McCloud, who is the No. 2-ranked player on PBgametime’s 2016 Big Board, is rated the 11th-best outside linebacker in the 2016 class by 247Sports and 13th by ESPN. Rivals has him as a three-star and 54th at his position.
He plans to enroll in January.
