Jupiter boys lacrosse voted Palm Beach County’s top high school team

The results are in, and Jupiter boys lacrosse is No. 1.

The Warriors, who won their first state championship May 11 with an 11-8 victory over Orlando-Bishop Moore, earned more than 3,000 votes and were selected by Palm Beach Post readers as Palm Beach County’s top high school sports team for 2017-18.

Voting took place throughout June and early July.

The Warriors, led by stars like Benno Janssen and Joey Bretz, finished 21-2 on the season.

Jupiter’s baseball team, also a state champion after beating Orlando-Timber Creek 6-3 last month, finished No. 2 in voting with more than 2,200 votes.

The state finalist Benjamin girls volleyball team was No. 3, followed by the state champion American Heritage girls lacrosse team and the state finalist Palm Beach Gardens girls volleyball team.

Fourteen other teams were on the list, representing a total of 11 sports.
